Transparency about Cost, Care, and Boundaries
Choosing a therapist is not only a clinical decision. It’s also a practical one. Questions about fees, insurance, and policies are important, and you deserve clear answers. This page explains how my practice is structured, why I don’t accept insurance, what my fee is, and how out-of-network reimbursement works.
Fees, Insurance, and
Practice Policies
━━━ Why I Don’t Accept Insurance ━━━
I am a private-pay therapist and do not accept insurance.
Why Private Pay
Supports Better Care
This decision is intentional and allows me to provide care that is
Insurance companies often require
An electronic report from the therapist on every therapy session, viewed by at least a dozen employees of the insurance company. Your information is not private.
Specific diagnoses placed in your permanent medical record
Ongoing documentation about symptoms and “medical necessity”
Limits on session frequency or duration
Treatment approaches that prioritize cost over care
Understanding Insurance Requirements
For clients living with chronic illness or medical trauma, these requirements can feel intrusive or retraumatizing. Operating outside of the insurance system allows therapy to remain focused on your well-being rather than on meeting external criteria, and to remain completely private with no electronic reports about you sent anywhere.

━━━ Session Fee ━━━
My Session Fee
The fee for individual psychotherapy is $225 per 50-minute session.
This fee reflects
I intentionally keep my caseload smaller so sessions are not rushed and care can remain consistent.

“THE SECRET OF GETTING AHEAD IS GETTING STARTED.”
━━━ Reimbursement & Superbills ━━━
Out-of-Network (OON) Reimbursement & Superbills
While I do not accept insurance, I am happy to provide superbills for clients who wish to seek out-of-network reimbursement.
A superbill is a detailed receipt you may submit to your insurance company. Depending on your plan, you may be reimbursed for a portion of the session fee.

If You Are Considering Using Out-Of-Network Benefits, You May Want To Ask Your Insurance Provider The Following:
I do not communicate directly with insurance companies on behalf of clients.
Cancellation Policy
Because session times are reserved specifically for you, I require at least 24-hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. You will be charged the full $225 fee for either of the following:
I understand that chronic illness can be unpredictable, and we can talk thoughtfully about pacing and scheduling. At the same time, this policy helps maintain consistency of care and ensures the sustainability of the practice.
A valid credit or debit card is required to be kept on file before sessions begin. Your card will be charged

Accessibility And Fit
Private-pay therapy is not accessible for everyone, and I respect that. If this model does not work for you, I’m happy to help you think about other options or referrals that may better fit your needs.
My goal is for expectations around cost and policies to be clear, so therapy itself can feel steady, respectful, and supportive.
